Columbus voters passed both council-reform charter amendments, ending all-at-large council elections and likely growing the council to 13 seats
Columbus voters approved Issue 8 and Issue 9 on Tuesday. Both end the system where every council member is elected citywide. Issue 8 keeps nine district seats, each elected only by that district's voters. Issue 9 adds four at-large seats on top of the districts, taking the council from nine to 13. Unofficial figures reported by Power 107.5's site show Issue 8 at 81.76% yes and Issue 9 at 57.23% yes. Outlets disagree on when the new seats arrive.
